Staples donates 130 clipboards to support learning on the go

Principal Jana Dick and PAC Vice President Aaren Madden
open boxes containing 130 clipboards donated by Staples.
A donation of 130 clipboards by Staples will help students at Victoria West Elementary School learn on the go. Teachers approached the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) in the fall with a funding request for the clipboards to help facilitate learning outside the classroom setting.

PAC Vice President Aaren Madden took on the project and approached Staples to see if a deal could be reached on purchasing the clipboards in bulk at a good price, and the company agreed. But when Madden returned to pick up the clipboards this week she was astonished to learn that Staples was donating the clipboards at no cost. The company also returned a $20 gift card that was going to be used for the purchase.

"They said they felt this was an important cause to a school that needed the support," said Madden. "Now the classrooms will expand beyond school walls into the community, the parks, the shore, you name it."

The clipboards were delivered to Principal Jana Dick on Monday to distribute to teachers.
