business and contribute to PAC funds at the same time!
SHOP EARLY TO FUNDRAISE
To make your life easier, your PAC has pre built kits containing all required items on your child’s supply lists. No need to stress
about finding a “½ interlined ½ plain notebook” – if it’s on the list, it’s in the kit! It’s important to remember that the items listed at optional are still required. The reason behind the optional items is simply to allow you not to purchase something you may already have at home and would like to reuse.
1. Visit bts.monk.ca and enter your PAC Code: on the SHOP page
2. Add your child’s kit (and optional items, if desired) to your cart
3. During checkout, pay with Visa or MasterCard and choose free school delivery (scheduled by your school for June or September) or free in
store pickup
Shop local! Monk partners with local community organizations to make sure all students have the supplies they need for a successful year.
Thank you for shopping online with Monk Office for your back to school and office needs!

Tuesday Sept 22– Welcome Back Zoom
Time- t.b.a. Likely 7:30 p.m.
What? As in person events like our traditional welcome back bbq are not possible this year, we will be hosting a zoom meet up for parents, with a brief introduction from the school administrative team, and synopsis of what the p.a.c. is looking for this year. Primarily, this is an opportunity to get to know a few other parents in your child’s grade. The host will ask participants to rename themselves with their kid’s grade/s then divide them into small chat groups based on grade.
Tuesday Sept 29 AGM Election Zoom
This will be a live election using zoom poll, to fill executive posts.
All parents or caregivers of children at Vic West elementary are members of the p.a.c. and may submit one vote per family group. In addition we can discuss fund raising suggestions for the coming year, and parents can pose more general questions as well. Agenda items may be submitted to vicwestpac@gmail.com

Back to school 2020/21
Here we go!
Back to school begins for many of us this week.
Kindergarten families please refer to the letter you have received from the school regarding start times.
Grades 3-4-5 begin Sept 10 9:30-11:30
Grades 1-2 begin Sept 11 9:30-11:30
There will be some new procedures for all of us this year! There will be two whiteboards outside the school with class lists and door locations. Staff will also circulate with information to help you find the right waiting spot and door for your child or children. Start times are staggered so there won’t be quite as many people crowding around the boards 😉 It may be difficult at times to social distance, so we encourage all to wear a mask during drop off. A reminder to not take photos of the information on the boards. Thank you for respecting the privacy of the children and families at our school. Your current P.A.C. will host an information table both these mornings from 8:45-9:45. We are looking to add members in most positions, and will need lots of help this year as we explore fundraising in new ways!
Monday Sept 14 kicks off regular school hours for those attending full time.
Grades 3-4-5 8:45-2:23
Grades 1-2 9:00-2:38
Hybrid students start their attendance Sept 14 or 15th, and those families will be contacted directly.
Any families that are not receiving email updates please contact the school at vicwest@sd61.bc.ca to have your contact information updated or corrected. Thank you for your patience and support during these challenging times!
We need a treasurer! If you have book keeping/accounting experience please consider joining the p.a.c. exec as treasurer. This key role needs to be filled for September, and as we see what the school year brings for us all we will also be holding elections to fill the roster for many other executive positions. Our roles will be minimal this year, but it would be a great opportunity for anyone interested to step up and learn how it all works. Please email vicwestpac@gmail.com or contact us via our facebook page (search Vic West Elementary PAC)
